Hon. James P. Molinaro Center for Autism

Architecture, Design, Specialty

Founded in 1976, Eden II Programs serves children and adults diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in New York City and Long Island.  A 100 year old iconic building in Stapleton was chosen for a gut-to-steel rebuilding to become Eden II’s flagship school and administrative offices.  The project entails a total infrastructure redesign including structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and life-safety.  The facility meets NYC and NYSED requirements.  Spaces were designed to simulate the real-world environment and the multitude of experiences, physical and spatial encounters.  Photos courtesy of George/Chu Media

Staten Island Chamber of Commerce 54th Annual Building Awards

As you may have heard, our project was nominated and won several awards for exterior and interior design by the Chamber of Commerce today at their Building Awards luncheon.  What was a nice surprise, however, was that The James P. Molinaro Center for Autism was one of four commercial buildings nominated for the Chairman’s Award.  I am proud to say that our building was awarded the Chairman’s Award which means we scored highest in all categories.  Congrats to the Eden II team, RTSPCPinnacle architects and to the great work by our contractor.  Thanks again for making a dream become reality and allowing us to give our kids a chance to become all they can be.
